In Rachel Smythe's Webtoon, Lore Olympus, Hades is feared for his brusque personality and his morbid profession. However, people's perceptions of Hades are not accurate to his true nature. Although Hades does not particularly like his position, there are numerous upsides to being the king of the Underworld.

Hades enjoys more wealth and power than most gods, and he recently found his bride, Persephone. Additionally, more and more gods are realizing Hades's worth outside the Underworld. Hades has enjoyed many benefits throughout his life, but only now are all of those boons falling into place. For the first time in a long time, Hades acknowledges his perks.

10 People Fear Hades

A combination of Hades's profession and stoic demeanor makes people fearful of him. Although Hades often sees their fear as a detriment, it is exceedingly helpful when he needs to get something done. Whether through perceived or direct intimidation, people's fear of Hades works in his favor.

By using his bad reputation to his advantage, Hades persuades people to finish tasks, do his bidding, or stay away from Persephone. It is not the most moral thing he does, but there is no denying that it is effective in helping him create his empire.

9 Hades Is The God Of Wealth

Hades is not only the god of death but also the god of fortune and wealth. As such, he appears to have much nicer and more modern things than other Olympians. Plus, Hades can use his fortune for his benefit.

After purchasing as many material goods as he wanted, Hades now uses his money to continue growing his business. He also spoils Persephone as much as possible. Although she is not a materialistic girl, it still makes Hades feel good that he can buy the love of his life nice things.

8 Hades Is the King Of The Underworld

As king of the Underworld, Hades often feels like an outcast. However, he uses his status to build his empire from the ground up. When Zeus first gave him the realm, there was practically nothing. But now, a thriving metropolis has blossomed, thanks to Hades's efforts.

Additionally, his royal status gives him many other perks, such as (some) favors from Zeus, as well as all authority in his domain. Though he does not use his title often, it does come in handy when he needs a favor.

7 Hades Is Principled

Unlike many of the gods on Olympus, Hades has a set of principles that he tries to adhere to. Though he could use his awesome power for many destructive and selfish purposes, Hades opts to go through the proper channels (most of the time). He often balks against Zeus throwing his title around, and typically tries to keep his own out of conversations.

Although Hades is not beyond violence, he also would never harm anyone unless he felt they deserved it. Hades is a man who keeps his promises, and would never betray anyone. He is a loyal person who would do anything to protect the ones he loves.

6 Hades Is Gaining Confidence

Hades began Lore Olympus in a bit of a rut. His girlfriend was demeaning, he was lonely, and he was a societal outcast. However, after meeting the effervescent Persephone, Hades's whole outlook drastically changes.

Nowadays, Hades has a new-found confidence. He stands up to Zeus, communicates his desires, and fights for what he truly wants. Hades has come such a long way since the beginning of the series, and fans cannot get enough of it.

5 Hades Owns Cerberus

One of the perks of any position in the Underworld is its proximity to the guard dog, Cerberus. In this telling, Cerberus is a transforming three-headed dog who is usually seen as a regular-sized Great Dane. As his owner and guardian, Hades enjoys the perks of having the adorable and fierce Cerberus as his companion.

Besides having a cuddly pet, Hades also enjoys being under Cerberus's protection. When he is at his largest, Cerberus is a fearsome and vicious guard. With him around, Hades never has to worry about intruders or other unsavory characters coming his way.

4 Hecate Is On Hades's Side

While many Olympians fear Hades or regard him with disdain, Hecate has always remained by his side. As the goddess of magic and spells, Hecate is an equally terrifying member of the pantheon. However, her loyalty to Hades makes her an asset when he needs to get things done.

Apart from helping him out of sticky situations, Hecate often keeps Hades from hurting his own feelings. She regularly calls Hades on his excuses and is one of the first people to snap him out of dismal moods. She might not be the most gentle of souls, but Hecate is a true friend to Hades when no one else seems to be.

3 Others Underestimate His Kind Heart

Hades's intimidating reputation frightens people away. This means that only a select few know Hades's true kindness. Though he puts on a cold demeanor, Hades is one of the nicest gods in the pantheon. He willingly helps those in need and does his best to be a good person.

More specifically, there is nothing he would not do for Persephone. Hades has a great capacity for love. Even on his darkest days, he tries to remain considerate to his friends and family. Those who are afraid of him will never get the chance to know how kind Hades can truly be.

2 Hades Is Very Powerful

As befitting the king of the Underworld, Hades wields immense power. With just a few words and a flash of light, Hades can exact his abilities onto his nearest foes. He does not use his powers often, but when he does, it is a spectacle to behold.

The two biggest reasons Hades uses his powers are for vengeance and protection. This is especially true where Persephone is concerned. Hades has been waiting a long time to find the right person for him, and he does not take slights against her lightly.

1 Persephone Is Hades's Queen

After millennia of loneliness, Hades finally finds his queen in Persephone. Despite being much younger than him, Persephone makes him immeasurably happy. The two understand each other on a deeper level, making them the perfect pair.

Additionally, Persephone is powerful on her own. As such, she is an invaluable ally to Hades, especially when Kronos escapes from his prison. Persephone is shown to be a loving and gentle person who has no qualms about fighting for the people she loves. Hades is truly blessed to have met her.
