Lords of the Rings Cast Reunites for Instagram Battle

The hobbits have taken to Instagram! In December 2016, "The Fellowship of the Ring" celebrated its 15th anniversary, and star Orlando Bloom (Legolas) has been celebrating on social media. His latest post shows Bloom, Billy Boyd (Pippin), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) and Elijah Wood (Frodo) battling a cave troll... with cutlery.

Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" film trilogy was a celebrated box office smash, adapting J.R.R. Tolkien's dense, incredibly influential books into sweeping films with plenty of memorable, cinematic moments. While "Fellowship" itself was not an awards darling, the series' finale, "Return of the King," picked up eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Many critics saw those awards as recognition for the trilogy as a whole.

Bloom recently finished shooting the fifth installment in Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." According to the recently released synopsis, the film follows Jack Sparrow as he tries to escape a ghostly, terrifying captain bent on killing all pirates. Directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" hits theaters on May 26, 2017.
