Not only is DC Comics' Suicide Squad poised to take over the box office when the live-action flick arrives on August 5, the comic book version is getting a fresh look later in the month courtesy of Rob Williams and Jim Lee. And now, DC has unveiled the first glimpse inside the covers with the release of the first page of the new title's debut issue.

The page, debuting via Previews World, shows Amanda Waller gathering her newest team, including veteran members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang, along with newcomer Killer Croc.

In order for Lee to maintain the series' twice-monthly monthly schedule, each issue will feature a 7-page back-up story featuring tales starring individual team members, the first of which is written by Williams with art by former "Justice League" artist Jason Fabok. The first issue's back-up will tell the Rebirth-era origin of Deadshot, aka Floyd Lawton.

"Suicide Squad" #1, by Rob Williams, Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Jason Fabok, arrives in stores August 17.
