While Loki played a key role in God of Thunder's first three movies, just what will happen with the God of Mischief come Thor: Love and Thunder isn't totally clear at this time. Thor, for his part, lost his version of Loki in Avengers: Infinity War to Thanos, and there's no indication the brothers will reunite again at any point in the future. However, Marvel Studios Phase Four seems like it'll be more interconnected than ever, with various different series and movies affecting one another in major ways, so even if Loki doesn't appear, his solo show might affect Thor: Love and Thunder. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it's not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there's a good indication the characters that Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there's not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, there are a lot of potential directions the MCU could go in the future, though exactly which one it will take remains to be seen. That being said, Loki will seemingly link in some way to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, even if how isn't known at this time.
