Loki writer Eric Martin revealed the Disney+ series' writers wanted to delve more into Sylvie's past, only for that plan to be vetoed by Marvel Studios.

Martin was asked on Twitter if he had any "memorable notes/mandates/curveballs from the higher-ups" while working on the show. "We outlined a very different episode two that showed much more of what Sylvie did on the timeline, but they wanted us to stick with Loki," he replied.

This isn't the first time Martin discussed a planned element of Loki, as the writer recently revealed a cut scene from the pilot episode that would have featured Loki fighting Frog Thor.

Making her debut at the end of Episode 1, Sylvie's true identity would be revealed in the following episode. It was later established that as a child, Sylvie was taken from her timeline by the Time Variance Authority, but managed to escape.

Despite being conceived as a single-season show, Loki was greenlit for Season 2 with its Season 1 finale. However, director Kate Herron won't be returning, though she would "love to work with [Marvel Studios] again." It's also been reported that Tom Hiddleston is expected to reprise his role as the God of Mischief for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Starring Tom Hiddleston, Loki's first season is currently streaming on Disney+. Season 2 has yet to receive a premiere date.
