As production progresses on Loki Season 2, an array of on-set images continue to reveal the ongoing time-bending exploits of Tom Hiddleston's title character. Yet, one such image also seems to tease that Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius will finally get what he's long-desired: a ride on a jet ski.

Potentially revelatory footage from the second season of the Disney+ series has emerged, seemingly showcasing an indirect reference for the arc of Wilson's Mobius, despite not being there. The footage, as supplied by Instagram, focuses heavily on Hiddleston's variant version of the God of Mischief, who seems to be locked in combat with an invisible enemy (perhaps one that will appear via CGI), but he happens to be standing in front of what appears to be a dealership for Piranha, a jet ski brand, as a silhouetted banner image makes clear. While the idea of Mobius taking to the sea aboard a motor-powered watercraft might seem like an odd thing on which to fixate, it actually progresses an ongoing idea about the Time Variance Authority agent established in the first season.

Loki's inaugural season showed how the captured Norse deity was helpless against the vexing chronological custody of the TVA, whose might was so great that they kept versions of the precious Infinity Stones in a junk drawer. However, the organization's power also initially appeared unassuming, notably in the office-like aesthetics of its base and the general presentation of Loki's personal caseworker, Mobius, who came across as a bored bureaucrat who longed to escape his humdrum existence of catching variants. Pertinently, Mobius' wishes were conveyed in an appropriately unassuming manner with an interest in jet skis, as demonstrated by his reading of jet ski magazines during his free time; a habit rendered bizarre and/or sad due to the fact that he's never been on a personal watercraft.

However, with the TVA left overturned by the end of Season 1, the further adventures of Loki, Mobius and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) will apparently see the characters embark on a quest across time on Earth, as evidenced by earlier set footage, which seems to show them situated sometime in the 1970s -- and working at a McDonald's no less. While the future remains uncertain, Mobius is now free from the memory-suppressing grip of the TVA and its founder, the Kang the Conqueror variant known as He Who Remains. Consequently, the new footage's reference to jet skis seems to foreshadow a notable plot seed that will finally come to fruition in Season 2. Of course, the idea of how a jet ski sequence will factor into the show's time-bending plot remains to be seen.

Loki Season 2 is currently slated to hit Disney+ sometime in summer 2023.
