A new set photo from Loki Season 2's production features an Easter Egg to an extremely obscure Marvel Comics character.

Spotted by the More Butter Twitter account, the image showcases a poster for The Zaniac starring Brad Wolfe. Created by Doug Moench and Keith Pollard and debuting in Thor #319 (May 1982), Zaniac is a demonic entity of sorts that possesses hosts and sends them on killing sprees. (He is believed to have possessed Jack the Ripper.) As his legend grew inside the Marvel Universe, actor Brad Wolfe accepted a role to play a fictional Zaniac in a movie. However, an on-set accident cause Wolfe to turn into the real Zaniac, setting him on a collision course with Thor. According to the Marvel Comics wiki, he has only appeared in four comic issues.

Details about Loki Season 2 are being kept under wraps, so it is unclear if Zaniac will actually play a role in the series or if this is just an Easter egg. Other set photos feature posters for other fictional movies, including one starring Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), who was revealed in Eternals to be a major Bollywood star.

The second season of Loki was announced in a post-credit tease after the Season 1 finale, with filming beginning in June 2022 at Pinewood Studios in London, United Kingdom. Eric Martin will serve as head writer, replacing Season 1's Michael Waldron. Moon Knight's Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will take over for Kate Herron as the directors of the season. So far, along with series lead Tom Hiddleston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Eugene Cordero and Owen Wilson are all set to return.
