Loki star Eugene Cordero has been upped to a series regular for the second season of Marvel Studios' Disney+ show.

As reported by Deadline, Cordero is set to step into the spotlight in Loki Season 2n. The actor portrays Time Variance Authority employee Casey, whose appearance in the first season included the use of the Infinity Stones as paperweights. Apart from his appearance in Loki, Cordero also recently starred in the comedy film Easter Sunday and appeared as a series regular on the Broken Lizard's TruTV series Tacoma FD. Loki marks the second project Cordero has worked on with series star Tom Hiddleston, as both actors appeared together in Legendary Pictures' 2017 film, Kong: Skull Island.

Cordero is not the only actor set to reprise his Loki role in Season 2 of the series. Sophia Di Martino is slated to reprise her role as Sylvie, a variant of the God of Mischief. Recent behind-the-scenes photos from the Season 2 set showed Di Martino dressed as a 1970s' McDonald's employee, indicating more of the time-traveling adventures that began in Season 1. Moreover, Owen Wilson is also set to reprise his role as Mobius M. Mobius, with recent set photos hinting that the character may finally have his dream of owning a jet ski realized.

Loki Returns to Disney+

While several cast members are returning, it was revealed during the recent D23 Expo that Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan will be joining the Season 2 cast in a currently unknown role. While not much is known about the plot of the second season, it was recently revealed that the new installment of the series had earned a TV-14 rating, the same rating given to Season 1 in 2021.

Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will helm the majority of the episodes for Loki Season 2, with Eric Martin writing the six-episode season. While the show was originally imagined as a limited series, producer Nate Moore said in 2021 that there is plenty of scope for the concepts and themes of Loki to go beyond just one season. "I think there's a lot of storytelling in Loki that's really irreverent and clever and cool, but also lends itself to multiple seasons in a way where it’s not a one-off," he said.

Loki Season 2 is scheduled for release in mid-2023 as part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All six episodes of Loki's first season are available to stream on Disney+.
