Richard E. Grant has captivated the audience of Disney+'s hit streaming series, Loki, with his performance as "Classic Loki," especially the very comic book specific costume that he wears on the show, but as it turns out, Grant was hoping that he would get something special to wear along with that costume...a muscle shirt!

A muscle shirt, in this context, is not a tight T-shirt that shows off one's muscles, but rather a shirt that has padding on it that makes it look like you have muscles.

The reason that Grant was hoping to get a muscle shirt is that the original Jack Kirby design for Loki, which is what Grant's version of Loki is based on, was clearly designed for a rather muscular body type...

While when Grant wears that same costume, it looks almost comical...

That's obviously the intent on the show, but Grant, on the other hand, was hoping that he would get a muscle shirt to make the costume not appear so comical.

He revealed this to Collider in a charming interview, explaining, "They sent me the costume design with my face on it. It was the classic Loki of the Jack Kirby illustrations of the '60s and it was a fantastic muscle suit. As you can see, I'm born without any. When I got to Atlanta and I said, "So where's the muscle suit that I get into before I get into the green tights?" They said, "What muscle suit?" And I said, "Well, like the drawings." They said, "No. We don't have one for you." And I said, "Well, I don't have any muscles to fill this out." And they said, "Ah, don't worry about that." And I said, "I do worry about that." And I'm still worrying about that and I'm still grouching about it because I wanted those muscles."

The Collider interviewer let him know, "I think you look lovely," and we all agree.
