Despite only appearing in a single episode of Disney+'s Loki TV series, Richard E. Grant has captured the attention of fandom for his brilliant performance of the so-called "Classic Loki," with the iconic Jack Kirby costume depicted in the classical way (much like how Scarlet Witch, Vision and Quicksilver wore their Silver Age costumes in the Halloween episode of WandaVision). Now Grant is sharing a charming story about how his father would have reacted to the costume had he lived to see Grant wear it. Grant has had a long and respected film and television career ever since his movie debut as the lead of the British comedy, Withnail and I, in 1987, but it has only been in recent years that his acting success has seemed to translate a bit into international attention, starting with his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for 2018's Can You Ever Forgive Me? He was soon cast in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and is now playing "Classic Loki" in Loki. RELATED: Watch Loki’s Owen Wilson and Richard E. Grant Share Some BTS LaughsGrant has clearly enjoyed his newfound fame, as he has spent a lot of time on social media sharing behind the scenes photos with fans and a video joking around with his co-star, Owen Wilson. On Friday, he shared a photo of himself in his "Classic Loki" outfit and he shared a charming story...

He tweeted, "My late Father asked me 4 decades ago ‘Do you really want to spend your life in make-up and tights?’ At 64, this get-up for @LokiOfficial for @disneyplus would have made him cackle!"

Grant had a very complicated relationship with his father, which he depicted in his own 2005 independent film, Wah-Wah, which he wrote and directed about his life growing up in Swaziland (with Nicholas Hoult playing young Grant and Gabriel Byrne playing his father). He noted in an NPR interview at the time about how people treated his chances at making it as an actor as, "What wasn't clear is that anybody from [Swaziland] could possibly make a living and pursue this as a career seriously — that was what was deemed ludicrous." It is good to see that Grant can still have a sense of humor about it decades later with his social media posting.
