A new TV spot gives Loki fans a better look at Richard E. Grant's "Classic Loki" costume in the series, which pays direct homage to the character's original costume from Marvel Comics legend Jack Kirby.

In the post-credits scene of Loki Episode 4 "The Nexus Event," fans were introduced to four new Loki Variants: Kid Loki, Boastful Loki, Alligator Loki and Classic Loki. The glimpse at the new characters was short, as they only appeared on screen for a brief moment. However, a TV ad for the show's upcoming fifth episode that aired on ESPN gave fans a better look at both Kid Loki and Classic Loki. The latter is named for his getup in the show, with his yellow cape, helmet and jester-looking green and yellow costume inspired by Jack Kirby's take on the God of Mischief, most notably in 1962's Journey Into Mystery #85.

While we don't know much about Classic Loki in the Disney+ series, it's possible he may take more than the character's costume from the Jack Kirby era of illustration. Loki was originally introduced as Thor's greatest enemy and a master trickster, though he turned out to be more of an ineffectual jester out to destroy Thor than a full-fledged supervillain. The Loki co-created by Jack Kirby was a very different character from the versions we've seen so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being a true villain unlike the antihero fans are familiar with.

Richard E. Grant, who portrays Classic Loki, made his feature film debut in 1987's Withnail and I. He's also known for his other roles in 2001's Gosford Park and 2018's Can You Ever Forgive Me? The actor has made appearances in a number of various franchises, including Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones. Loki marks the actor's debut in the MCU, though he previously appeared in Logan as the character Zander Rice.

With the variants having been introduced at the end of Episode 4, fans will be getting a better introduction to them when Loki's fifth episode airs on Wednesday, July 7. In addition to Sylvie, the appearance of the quartet means that five Variants of Loki have been revealed so far.

Created by Michael Waldron and directed by Kate Herron, Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Eugene Cordero as Casey, Sasha Lane as Hunter C-20 and Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, with Richard E. Grant and Jack Veal. New episodes premiere Wednesdays on Disney+.
