WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Loki Episode 1, "Glorius Purpose," streaming now on Disney+.

With Loki, Disney+ and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are embracing the weird. It's a trend that started with 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, continued with 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, both of which contained affable non-human oddball characters, such as Groot and Korg. Fans have only been treated to one episode of Loki, so they don't yet know exactly how strange things will get at the Time Variance Authority, but they have met at least one new affable non-human oddball character, voiced by one very talented voice actor.

An image of the orange cartoon clock that is Miss Minutes was featured in the trailer for Loki, but not the character's speaking voice. Marvel didn't announce her casting ahead of time, but now that the series is live on the streaming platform, it's been revealed that Miss Minutes is played by none other than Tara Strong. Though her name might not be as well known as other MCU voice actors like Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper or Jennifer Connelly, the public is nonetheless familiar with her illustrious resume.

Strong has a whopping 602 screen credits to her name, and she's only 48 years old. Though she has performed in live-action, she's a seasoned veteran voice actor who has spoken life into some of the most recognizable animated characters of the past few decades, particularly in the realm of comics adaptations. Strong is Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls, Timmy Turner in The Fairly Oddparents and Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony, and while she's also done work for multiple animated DC projects, both on television and in video game format, she's probably best known for playing Raven in the Teen Titans Cartoon Network series. This isn't Strong's first gig for Marvel, either. She's done voice work as Mary Jane Watson, Scarlet Witch and Jessica Jones in various TV specials and video games like Lego Marvel's Avengers.

Strong's newest role in Loki isn't just a cheekily anachronistic character, she's also a helpful delivery system of exposition and other important information. As Loki is taken into TVA custody, she explains that it's her job to catch him up before he stands trial for his crimes, which also fills in the audience on the basic premise and operating principle of the series. Miss Minutes illustrates the nature of time and the history of the multiverse in the relatively low stakes and casual tone of a Schoolhouse Rock while adding that the "Timekeepers" created and manage the "Sacred Timeline." She also informs Loki that he's a "Variant," someone who has disrupted that timeline, and that his existence could result in another multiversal war. Miss Mischief even gets the last word in the premiere episode, "Glorious Purpose," with a final line for those who stick around through the end credits.

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15 and Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane and Eugene Cordero in undisclosed roles. The series premieres June 9 on Disney+.
