Loki's breakout star Miss Minutes is jumping into Marvel Comics in a variant cover for Timeless #1, a new Kang-centric one-shot that promises to offer a sampler of the publisher's 2022 plans.
While the cover has not been made public, GamesRadar confirmed Marvel is planning a Miss Minutes variant cover for Timeless # 1. As of this writing, the artist for the cover is unknown. It's also not known if the cover is just a reference to the popular Loki character, or if Miss Minutes will play a vital role in the comic's story. While many elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can be traced back to the comics, Miss Minutes was an original creation for the popular Disney+ show, which was just renewed for a second season.
"Kang the Conqueror always knows what happens next - it's a perk of being from the 31st century," writer Jed MacKay explained in the original Timeless announcement. "But when chronal chaos throws the future he expects into disarray, the Conqueror finds a new challenge to pit himself against- and he's delighted by it. In his adventure across the timelines, Kang will reveal things that will happen in the coming years, things that could, and things that should never."
Led by a creative team of writer Jed MacKay and artists Kev Walker, Greg Land, and Mark Bagley, Timeless will act as a teaser for the publisher's plans for 2022, so expect big reveals from the X-Men, Avengers, Venom, and more of Marvel's superheroes and villains in this new one-shot.
"Our magnificent Marvel fans are sure to be thrilled by the spectacular stories we have planned for 2022 and Timeless serves as its seismic setup, taking our characters to some most unexpected places – and time periods – with plenty of secrets and surprises along the way!" Marvel editor-in-chief CB Cebulski said. "A look at Marvel's past, present, and future...it's all connected!"
While Kael Ngu has supplied the main cover to Timeless #1, a variety of variant covers are planned from artists Natacha Bustos, Don Heck, Juann Cabal, Joshua Cassara, Iban Coello, Patrick Gleason, Carmen Carnero, Peach Momoko, RB Silva, and an as-yet-unnamed artist supplying the Miss Minutes cover.
Written by Jed MacKay and illustrated by Kev Walker, Greg Land, and Mark Bagley, Timeless #1 goes on sale Dec. 22 from Marvel Comics.
