The MCU is officially two series deep into their Disney+ foray, and both have been a resounding success. WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier could not have been more different from each other but they were outstanding in their own ways. Next up on the list is a series focused on Loki, an OG character in the MCU and an absolute fan favorite. And once again, it already looks nothing like the MCU series that came before it.

While details are still quite scarce, fans know that they are in for some time-traveling shenanigans in Loki. The fun part about this time-hopping action is that anyone could pop up. That includes villains, both new to the MCU and pre-existing.

10 The Abomination Is Just Waiting To Be Freed

While the movie has been largely forgotten to cinematic history at this point, The Incredible Hulk was the second film released in Phase One of the MCU. It introduced Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/Hulk, though he was replaced by Mark Ruffalo after this movie.

While there were several characters introduced in The Incredible Hulk that have disappeared from the MCU, the literal biggest one of them all was the Abomination. This monstrous version of the Hulk has been in custody since the end of the movie. Loki could be the perfect time for him to reemerge.

9 Ares Would Indicate The Launch Of A New Pantheon

Ares pulls of a superhero landing in Marvel Comics

The Norse gods have played a huge part in the overall MCU, thanks to the inclusion of Thor and his family. But in the comics, there are other pantheons who play a big part, with the gods of Olympus being some of the most prominent.

Ares might have gone out as a hero trying to stop Sentry but he spent most of his comic book career fighting against Hercules and the Avengers. This might be the Disney+ series for Ares to appear, setting the stage for the rest of his ilk to pop up in the MCU.

8 Amora The Enchantress Might Have Survived Ragnarok

The Enchantress displays her power

A lot of big Norse names from the comics have played parts in the MCU. That includes Odin, Freya, Heimdall, Sif, and The Warriors Three. But one name that has been suspiciously missing is Amora the Enchantress.

This evil sorceress has plagued Thor, Loki, and the Avengers on many occasions. Given how resourceful she generally is, Amora easily could have survived Ragnarok and would be more than happy to start harassing Loki in his upcoming series.

7 Annihilus Might Be Lurking Around

Annihilus demonstrates his rage

Running up against Annihilus is a huge nightmare for pretty much any hero or team of heroes in Marvel Comics. Referred to by some as "The Living Death Who Walks," Annihilus is the feared ruler of the Negative Zone. He has extreme levels of power, not to mention an entire army.

If Loki is going to spend his series traipsing around the time stream, it's entirely possible that he could find himself in the pocket dimension Annihilus calls home. He might be the person who accidentally instigates a war between the denizens of the Negative Zone and the Avengers.

6 Red Skull Could Make A More Impactful Return

After vanishing from the MCU during the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, the Red Skull made his return during Avengers: Infinity War. He was revealed to be the guardian of the Soul Gem, asking for a sacrifice to be made in exchange for it, taking the lives of both Black Widow and Gamora.

But knowing that Red Skull is still out there in some fashion means that he could become a bigger presence, again. If nothing else, Loki could find himself in World War II where he encounters Red Skull in his horrifying prime.

5 Magneto Might Be The MCU's First Mutant

Magneto is a formidable opponent

It feels like an eternity since Disney picked up the large majority of Fox's assets, and fans have been waiting for the X-Men to make their MCU debut. It will happen at some point, but few details, if any, have been released as to when or where that will happen.

Loki could be the perfect opportunity to introduce them. His time traveling and potentially dimension-hopping journey could lead him to encounter Magneto, one of the most powerful mutants in Marvel Comics. He has been both a hero and a villain over the years, though he is best known as the X-Men's biggest enemy.

4 Hela Could Come Looking For A Family Reunion

Hela makes war on Asgard

Thor: Ragnarok is definitely the best of the MCU's Thor movies. There's also a strong argument to be made that it's one of the MCU's top five movies, and a big part of that success is definitively the villain, Hela.

The oldest child of Odin was incredibly powerful and a skilled warrior. In her final battle with Surtur, she subtly vanished just before the prophecy of Ragnarok was fulfilled and Asgard was destroyed. Hela might be looking for round two against her little brother.

3 Kang The Conqueror Loves Time Travel

Kang the Conqueror Marvel

While there are a lot of people who are passionate about time travel in Marvel Comics, few compare Kang the Conqueror. The history of this character is a confusing odyssey, to say the least. The most common incarnation is a version of Nathaniel Richards, the father of Mister Fantastic.

Kang is powerful, brilliant, and has access to an incredible array of technology from the future. Keeping in mind that Kang is rumored to be the MCU's next huge villain, it's unlikely that Loki would be able to do any form of time traveling without attracting his attention.

2 Loki Could Get A Rematch Against Thanos

Thanos faces the Avengers for the last time

The relationship between Loki and Thanos in the MCU has been difficult at best. It started with Loki working for Thanos, acting as his agent on Earth to retrieve Infinity Stones on his behalf. It ended when Thanos killed Loki in front of Thor.

While Thanos is currently deceased, that doesn't mean that he couldn't make a comeback. Even if he doesn't, jumping around the timestream could put Loki firmly in the Mad Titan's path once again. Loki might actually enjoy the chance to redeem himself, once he finds out what happened to him.

1 Doctor Doom May Finally Debut

Doctor Doom feature 2

This is a big one for Marvel fans. There's a really good chance that Doctor Doom is the greatest comic book villain of all time and almost anyone who knows him and watches the MCU has been waiting for Doom to finally appear.

Like Kang, Doctor Doom would definitely notice an Asgardian traveling through time. He could easily come looking for the erstwhile God of Mischief as well as the power and technology that is fueling his exploits.
