Following an exciting new clip during the Super Bowl, Marvel Studios has released a new synopsis for Loki, which will see the return of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's God of Mischief.

The synopsis avoids revealing too much about the plot, but it teases enough to intrigue the many enthusiastic fans of Thor's conniving brother and Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of him. The new synopsis reads:

"In Marvel Studios' 'Loki,' the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of 'Avengers: Endgame.' Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer. Debuts on Disney+ next year—2021."

While Marvel Studios seems to be keeping the most exciting details close to the chest, Hiddleston himself has revealed in the past that the upcoming series will follow Loki, as the villain he was in 2012, and provide him with a second chance at finding redemption.

Rumors and reports also indicate that the series will see the God of Mischief traveling through time. The new teaser seems to support that, since Loki is seen wearing a jumpsuit provided by the Time Variance Authority, an agency which, in the comics, attempts to protect the timeline from irritants.

Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, is set to hit Disney+ sometime in spring 2021. Rick & Morty writer Michael Waldron will write the series and be billed as creator, with Sex Education's Kate Herron directing all the episodes.
