WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Loki Episode 5, "Journey Into Mystery," streaming now on Disney+.

In the latest episode of Loki, Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief digs deep and finally comes to terms with who he really wants to be. It's taken him some time, but after being inspired by Mobius and wanting to protect Sylvie, the Asgardian trickster embraces life as a hero. And this change leads to a rousing finale where he goes up against the vengeful cloud, Alioth, and gains a new skill because of a newfound connection.

Loki's wrestled with breaking good for some time, realizing that he no longer needed to hurt the ones he cared for. Those acts were a cry for attention, and now, he promises his peers he won't let them down because he wants to help Sylvie enchant the cloud so they can find the creator of the TVA.

This plan leads to Loki and Sylvie having a comforting moment, with him giving her a blanket to keep warm and accepting what he must do. Despite wanting to escape the Void, he doesn't leave her and instead tries to distract the cloud so she could grip its branches mentally.

The battle then culminates with both Lokis holding pieces of Alioth, as Sylvie admits Loki could also enchant the being because it's a power he just has to harness. Loki and her try their best against the powerful entity, but it still proves too strong -- at least until Classic Loki shows up and helps them out with a distraction of his making. He starts creating illusions of Asgard for the beast to feed on, giving Loki and Sylvie another opportunity to grab hold of it.

However, it takes the death of Classic Loki at the hands of Alioth to fully trigger Loki's enchantment abilities. Seeing this selfless act from someone who believes in family inspires the main Loki, and coupled with Sylvie's love, his power finally kicks in. Together, Loki and Sylvie are finally able to enchant Alioth, with the beast turning into a green cloud, calming down and letting them pass to the citadel. And once they get their answers, Loki will have some new, exciting skills as he continues his journey as a hero.

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, and Eugene Cordero. New episodes air Wednesdays on Disney+.
