Now that Loki has drawn to a close, audiences are already looking forward to what will come in season two. The finale promised that Loki would, in fact, be returning in a second season of the show — but what exactly that show will contain remains to be seen in light of the finale. In reflecting upon the first season, fans are starting to get piece together hints for what’s to come.

Not only that, but they’re realizing just how good Loki was. From start to finish, Loki may just be the best show Disney & Marvel have put out on Disney+ thus far. These scenes prove that Loki had some of the best sequences in the MCU to date.

12 Kang Calling Out Sylvie And Loki

Kang Speaks To Sylvie And Loki

The sixth and final episode of Loki, “For All Time. Always.,” saw Kang (as He Who Remains) finally being introduced. While this Variant was not exactly Kang the Conqueror, it seemed that this iteration would not be far off. One of the best parts of the entire extended episode-long exchange between Kang, Sylvie, and Loki was when Kang called Sylvie and Loki out. He reminded Sylvie that they’re hypocrites, that they have also done terrible things, and that they should be the last ones to judge others for their actions.

11 Mobius And Loki Visiting Pompeii To Test Their Theory

Loki and Mobius in Pompeii during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius

At the beginning of the show, fans were not quite sure what to make of Mobius. He was an interesting and charming character, but he was also a TVA agent; this meant audiences were uncertain of just how trustworthy he actually was.

As the series wore on, Mobius became a more fleshed-out character, and he and Loki grew to trust each other. When they got to have fun, like in the entertaining scene where they visit Pompeii to test their apocalypse theory, Loki truly shone.

10 The Apocalypse Actually Happening On Lamentis-1

Tom Hiddleston as Loki L1130 in Episode 3

The MCU has a bad habit of washing a scene out entirely in one color and leaving their lighting at that. However, after Loki and Sylvie failed to prevent the apocalypse on Lamentis-1, the colorful sequence that followed was anything but drab or muddy. The vibrant, collapsing city that Sylvie and Loki ran through was one of the most visually compelling scenes in the entire show and put into perspective the sheer scope of an apocalyptic cataclysm.

9 The Truth About The Time-Keepers Coming Out

Statues of the Time-Keepers in Loki.

Part of the mystery in Loki is why the TVA exists in the first place, and what the Time-Keepers are doing with the organization. It was believed by TVA agents that the Time-Keepers were deciding what would happen at the end of time. To even get an audience with the Time-Keepers was terrifying for characters in Loki. When Sylvie and Loki confront the Time-Keepers only to discover that they’re not real and were just Wizard of Oz style robots, fans were shocked by the revelation — and excited about what it meant for the multiverse's future.

8 Loki Being Taken In By The TVA

In order to make a Loki show at all, the MCU had to explain how Loki could have survived after being killed by Thanos. Their explanation was that Loki managed to grab the Tesseract in the time-travel shenanigans of Avengers: Endgame, and this caused a “nexus event” that brought this Loki to the TVA’s attention.

The sequence where he gets brought in and processed by the TVA is a fun and ominous introduction to the show as a whole. In addition, Miss Minutes’ portion of the scene is a hoot that establishes Loki's sense of style immediately.

7 The Fight Between The Variant Lokis

President Loki With Knives Held To His Throat

With so many timelines, it was a fun opportunity for Loki to take a peek at other versions of Loki who have existed. In episode five, “Journey Into Mystery,” there is a fight scene between multiple Variant Lokis, including President Loki, Classic Loki, Kid Loki, Boastful Loki, and the Variant Loki the audience has been following -- who manages to escape the fray with a couple other friends.

6 Finding A Friend In Mobius And Hugging Him

Mobius And Loki Hugging Each Other

Tom Hiddleston recently stated in an interview with Tumblr that Loki has never really had a friend before, and that Mobius is his first. This is the first person that Loki has been able to be vulnerable with outside his own family, such as Thor and Frigga. Loki and Mobius were even able to exchange a hug, something that expressed just how much Loki has changed, as well as how far the two of them have come together.

5 Loki Explaining His Theory About The Variant Loki

Allowing Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson to truly perform together and engage with one another is one of the best things that Loki was able to do. The two are incredible actors, and any moments they shared on screen were impressive.

The scene that sold the two of them as a team was when Loki decides to try and explain his theory about the Variant Loki to Mobius. He destroys Mobius’ lunch in the process, but also makes a friend in a charming scene dripping with chemistry.

4 Singing In Asgardian Before The Apocalypse

In Asgardian On Lamentis-1

When Loki started to believe that he was, once and for all, actually going to die, he decided to do what a hedonistic god does — he got drunk and started to have a party. When Sylvie woke up and saw that Loki had been having fun without her, she caught him singing in Asgardian. He even sings a part of it to Sylvie. Tom Hiddleston’s linguistic skills were on display throughout the show, but this scene was both impressive and a lot of fun, as Loki almost never gets a chance to truly cut loose.

3 Multiple Lokis Meeting For The First Time

Seeing multiple Lokis appear at the end of episode four of Loki, entitled “The Nexus Event,” was particularly exciting for fans. It meant that Loki really was going to lean into the fact that there were multiple timelines at play.

The show took advantage of that to show off multiple different Lokis from the comics, including favorites such as Kid Loki. They met the main Loki for the first time, and, in doing so, met the exhilarated audience for the first time, as well.

2 The Sacred Timeline Sequence To Open The Finale

Loki and Sylvie Looking Upon The Sacred Timeline

While the finale of Loki has so far been considered one of the weaker episodes in the season, it opened with a bang. The beginning brings audiences through the events of the “Sacred Timeline.” Through the Marvel Studios logo and into the episode itself via a voiceover, viewers heard a number of famous lines from the franchise thus far, as well as quotes from people in real life. Among those voices were King T’Challa, Thor, Steve Rogers, Captain Marvel, Vision, Neil Armstrong, and Greta Thunberg, as well as Loki himself.

Loki Reacting To His Own Death At The TVA

Perhaps the best scene in Loki was almost entirely performed by Tom Hiddleston on his own (with a bit of Owen Wilson in the mix). Mobius shows Loki some of the life he had lived, as well as the life Loki was meant to live on the Sacred Timeline. Loki finds out about his mother’s death, among other major events from the MCU. Loki even witnesses his own death this way. This is the turning point for Loki, the moment he realizes he has to do things differently. It was a powerful performance, an impressive sequence, and one of the show’s best scenes.
