The Classic Loki costume worn by actor Richard E. Grant in the Disney+ series Loki bears more than a passing resemblance to Kermit the Frog, and a fan on social media has created a fitting mashup as tribute.

Posted to the Marvel Studios Reddit, one of the most recognizable and memed of the Muppets has had his head placed inside the cowl and under the horned helmet of the God of Mischief. The accompanying title also merges the two, using Kermit's sing-song speech pattern to deliver Loki's iconic catchphrase: "Hi-yo I am Loki of Asgard and I am burdened with glorious purpose.. yaaaaaaayyy."

The collar of the costume is the key, as it already looks very similar to the one that Kermit has worn most of his career with several variations. Grant admitted that he had hoped for a more muscled, ripped look that would have been closer to the comics, but instead he ended up drawing comparisons to the lovable amphibian.

This is just the most recent addition to the growing collection of aquatic animal variants stemming from the show and the comics. The alligator variant of Loki has already proven popular, and a brief appearance from Throg was a celebrated Easter egg in Episode 5.

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes and Eugene Cordero as Casey, with Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant and Sasha Lane in undisclosed roles. The final episode is streaming now on Disney+.
