Loki has been around in the MCU since his introduction in the first Thor film all the way back in 2011. With Loki typically leaning more toward the villainous side, it's no surprise that he's slain a few enemies along the way. Though it's only fair to say he's also killed a few people as a hero, perhaps even more.

Either way, Loki has killed his fair share of foes during his tenure in the MCU. Some are just random background characters such as assorted beings from other realms whereas others did have specific names and roles. Loki has even taken down royalty and powerful creatures despite his limited strength.

10 The Frost Giants That Infiltrated Odin's Vault, Inadvertently

While Loki may not have killed this trio of Frost Giants directly, it was later revealed that Loki was the one who told them how to sneak into Asgard. If he hadn't shared such information, those three might still be alive.

Instead, they met their instantaneous fate at the gaze of the Destroyer when they tried to take off with the Casket of Ancient Winters. Had Loki never disclosed the location of a secret passageway, they never would have made it past Heimdall, and likely not even that far.

9 The Frost Giant That Was Tricked Into Jumping Off The Cliff

Loki didn't directly kill this Frost Giant, but his duplication casting tricked him enough to tackle the projection only to fall over the edge of a cliff. It's assumed the long fall to the bottom would kill a mortal being, even a giant.

Loki casually watches the Frost Giant topple over the side. He then dismisses his projection and continues the fight, sneaking around the battlefield, carefully fighting as few foes as possible.

8 The Frost Giant That Revealed Loki Was One Of Their Kind

During the battle on Jotunheim, Loki had to fend off a few Frost Giants that got close enough for close-quarters combat. One Giant managed to land a hand on Loki, changing his skin to a bluish hue that resembled the Frost Giants' skin tone.

Surprised that he didn't cause damage to Loki, the Frost Giant flipped Loki's hand over to reveal Jotun markings on his skin, similar to the Frost Giant markings. Both the Giant and Loki noticed the markings at the same time and locked eyes for a moment before Loki blasted him.

7 The Frost Giant That Stabbed Fandral With Ice Spears

Shortly after learning about his Jotun heritage, Loki continues the fight against his people. Fandral ends up with an ice spear in his chest, courtesy of a Frost Giant, which prompts Loki to retaliate.

Loki fires a magical blast, similar to the one he used against the previous Giant. The Frost Giant that attacked Fandral falls limp as the other Asgardians come to Fandral's rescue and head back to the Bifrost loading zone.

6 His Birth Father, King Laufey Of Jotunheim

Laufey

After Loki's attempt to permanently banish Thor and kill him with the Destroyer blows up in his face, he attempts to save face by rescuing his adopted father, Odin, from invading Frost Giants. However, he doesn't tell anyone that he was the one who escorted the Frost Giants into Asgard.

Just as Laufey was about to stab Odin as he slept, Loki blasted Laufey off of him and then again, disintegrating Laufey. It's unknown if Laufey knew that Loki was his son, but with the promise of getting the Casket of Ancient Winters back, he was quick to accept Loki's offer.

5 A Handful Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Personnel When He First Arrives On Midgard

Loki from the MCU

When Loki first arrives on Earth, he immediately starts a fight with the surrounding S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, blasting many with his borrowed scepter. After the initial bloodshed, Loki starts recruiting agents for his team with the help of the scepter, which contained the Mind Stone at the time.

Loki keeps a low profile until he resurfaces in Germany to commandeer an eyeball. It's unknown if the scientist survived the attack, but given the invasiveness of the device, and the delay of medical assistance, it doesn't seem likely.

4 Agent Phil Coulson (& Several Other S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Are Killed During Loki's Escape)

During Loki's escape from the helicarrier, he makes use of his duplication casting abilities on a few occasions. The first comes when he tricks Thor, trapping the Thunder God in a transparent cage designed for The Hulk.

Immediately afterward, Agent Coulson shows up with a weapon modeled after the Destroyer armor from Asgard. Just as Coulson appeared to have the upper hand, Loki stabbed him in the back (and through the chest) with the scepter while his duplicate kept Coulson's attention.

3 He Inadvertently Helped Kurse Kill Frigga

Odin responding to his dead wife during the Dark Elf Invasion

This is another instance where Loki didn't outright kill anyone, but his actions led to their death. Unfortunately for Loki, the victim this time was his adopted mother, Frigga, who loved him very much and taught him all of the magic he knew.

Loki tells Kurse to take the stairs, which leads him directly to Frigga who is hiding Jane Foster with the help of her own illusion projections. When Frigga tells Malekith she will never tell him where the Aether is, he believes her and prompts Kurse to kill her on the spot. Mobius even tells Loki's Variant that he was responsible for Frigga's death during one of their many conversations at the TVA.

2 A Handful Of Dark Elves, Including Kurse

Eventually, Loki is able to get revenge against the beast that took his mother's life when he and Thor attempt to destroy the Aether. After a failed plan, Malekith absorbs the Aether and heads for the Convergence while a few of his lackeys stay behind to keep the Odinson brothers busy.

After Loki makes quick work of the regular Dark Elves, he comes to Thor's aid by stabbing Kurse in the back (kind of his thing) only for it to fail, getting impaled on the sword in the process. However, Loki sneakily activates one of Kurse's black hole grenades, sending the demonic creature straight back to hell.

1 Tag Teamed A Bunch Of Sakaaran Soldiers With His Brother During Their Escape

thor and loki funny scene ragnarok

Surprisingly, Loki doesn't kill anyone for quite some time after killing Kurse. Though that's likely due to the fact that he was posing as Odin until Thor came and ruined his fun. After a brief stint on Sakaar, the two of them attempt to commandeer one of the Grandmaster's ships to escape and save Asgard.

Loki and Thor make quick work of dozens of Sakaaran soldiers by using brute strength, fancy weapons, and teamwork. However, killing Sakaarans is like playing a video game for Asgardians. After all, Drax refers to Sakaarans as "paper people."
