Eugene Cordero, who played Time Variance Authority employee Casey in the first season of Loki, is returning for the second chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

In an interview with Screen Rant, the actor confirmed that his character will be featured in Season 2 of Loki. "Yes, yes, you can [look forward to more Casey]," Cordero said. "You know, I can't [tease anything], because I don't even know. There's so many passwords and passcodes that I have to fill out just to even look at the pages that I'm on, and the way that it works is things constantly change in a great way," Cordero explained. The Loki actor went on to discuss how the story of the series is always shifting and developing in unexpected directions, indicating that these constant changes make it difficult for him to exactly nail down his role. "I'm excited to do more and I don't know to what capacity I'll be able to be a part of it, but I'm excited to do it. So yeah, get ready, it'll be fun, I hope? No, it will be, it'll be great," Cordero concluded.

Debuting in the show's first episode, Cordero's character Casey was a TVA worker who interacted with the titular God of Mischief during his time with the organization. Casey quickly became a breakout hit among fans of the series, largely due to his confusion about what a fish is and his use of the infinity stones as paperweights. Although Cordero wasn't able to reveal what his character's role will be in Loki's next installment, the Season 1 finale credits the actor as "Hunter K-5E" instead of Casey. This seems to imply that the character will appear as a TVA Hunter in the upcoming season instead of his previous desk job.

Although Cordero will be returning to the series following its very successful first season, not all involved in Season 1 will be returning. Michael Waldron and Kate Herron, Loki's head writer and director respectively, will not be returning to their roles for Season 2. "We've hired a couple of great directors. [Justin] Benson and [Aaron] Moorhead are brilliant," Waldron said recently. "And Eric Martin has taken over as head writer for season 2. So the creative team is fantastic. As Tom [Hiddleston] once said, there's plenty more mischief to come."

Filming on Loki's upcoming season was reportedly scheduled to begin in June 2022. "We're in it already. I mean, we're not filming, but we're in prep, but we start in like six weeks or something," Hiddleston recently revealed regarding Season 2. "So we're in full steam ahead in terms of a script and story, and it's really exciting. Yeah, I can't say too much, but lots of questions to be answered."

The first season of Loki is currently available to stream on Disney+. Season 2 of the show does not yet have a release date.
