Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors has dropped a disappointing update for fans expecting him to appear in Loki as his Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania character Kang the Conqueror.

"I have no idea what you’re talking about," Majors told Variety about the prospect of Kang appearing on Loki. Fan speculation over such an appearance was spurred by how this particular Disney+ program features Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, a character who serves as a love interest for Kang in the comics.

Jonathan Majors broke out as a performer with his acclaimed supporting role in the 2019 independent drama The Last Black Man in San Francisco. Since then, Majors appeared in the Spike Lee feature Da 5 Bloods while also starring in the HBO program Lovecraft Country. In addition to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Major's other upcoming film roles include The Harder They Fall, Devotion and the third Creed movie.

Details remain scarce over the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Kang the Conquerer, including whether or not there will be any teases of the character prior to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, the presence of such cosmic character in a series that has involved more Earth-bound villains up to this point does align with director Peyton Reed's vision for this Ant-Man installment. "I think the third Ant-Man movie is going to be a much bigger, more sprawling movie than the first two," Reed previously said about Quantumania. "It's going to have a very different visual template."

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. New episodes air Wednesdays on Disney+.
