15. "Girlfrenzy" (Superman: Lois Lane #1)
A Lois Lane one-shot written and penciled by a woman was a really big deal in 1998 and this Barbara Kesel and Amanda Conner (with inks by Jimmy Palmiotti), saw Lois Lane doing some heavy duty investigative reporting where she uncovered a shocking series of experiments on humans and animals!
It was a beautiful blend of over-the-top adventure and real investigative knowhow. Conner's art was electric!
14. "Lois and Clark" (Superman: Lois and Clark #1-8)
After bringing back what was ostensibly the Pre-Flashpoint Superman and Lois Lane in Convergence (who are not only still married, but were expecting their first child), the two-part story was well received enough that Dan Jurgens, Lee Weeks and Scott Hanna did a sequel maxiseries that eventually led right into Superman Rebirth, as the Pre-Flashpoint Superman took over as the "real" Superman in the New 52 DC Universe (of course, it ended up being more complicated than that, as it always is, right?).
Jurgens always excelled at writing Superman and Lois Lane as a couple and his work in this maxiseries was so good that it really just made sense to bring them back to the main series. Lois Lane is a celebrated writer under an assumed name and even that is not enough to keep her fully protected from danger. I like that no matter what the situation is, Lois Lane will always try to do the right thing, even if it puts her into danger...
13. "...For A Thousand Years" (Action Comics #761)
In the issues leading up to this story (by Joe Kelly, German Garcia and Joe Rubinstein), Lois Lane made a deal with Lex Luthor to get Luthor to sell the Daily Planet back to Perry White (she would agree to kill one story of his choosing) and Superman forgot to take his wedding ring off while dressed as Superman, so the media caught on to it and started making a big deal over "Who is Mrs. Superman?"
Those two things began to weigh on Lois Lane, as she wonders whether she is "worth" being Mrs. Superman. She especially doubts herself when Wonder Woman enlists Superman's help in a fight. Lois can't help but be jealous and she would even be MORE jealous if she found out that the fight Wonder Woman needed help on was actually a special magical THOUSAND YEAR battle where Superman and Wonder Woman had to help the Norse gods for a thousand years without them aging. In that time, Lois' memory grows dimmer and dimmer and Superman and Wonder Woman grow closer and closer. In the end, though...
They win their battle and then he returns home to the woman he truly loves...

12. "Get Out of My Life, Superman!" (Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #80-81)
This story is probably best remembered for the amazing Neal Adams cover!
In any event, when Superman misses Lois Lane's birthday, she decides to cut ties with both him and her life in Metropolis and start over in a new city with a new astronaut boyfriend. She even manages to cross paths with Superman again and she lets him know that she is DONE with him!
Of course, the next issue she gains telepathic powers and realizes that Superman truly DOES love her and his consistent "if I marry her, she'll be in danger" excuse is something he truly believes and not just a line, so she forgives him and returns to Metropolis!
11. "Lois Lane's Romance with Jor-El!" (Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #59)
This delightfully bizarre story sees Lois Lane travel back in time to Krypton where she then promptly gets stuck. So she figures, eh, might as well try to steal Jor-El away from Lara!
