Eddie Jones, who played Superman's father Jonathan Kent on the 1993 Lois & Clark television series, has passed away.
Interact Theatre Company announced Jones' death with a Facebook post on July 6. "Our treasured longtime member, dear friend and trusted colleague, Eddie Jones, passed away today," the theatre's official page wrote in a statement. "Eddie was a true pillar of our company from its earliest days. An actor of keen wit and sharp instinct, when Eddie was on stage, you couldn't take your eyes off him. When he was off-stage, his broad, bright smile would light up the room."
"Everyone who knew Eddie as a friend, or had the good fortune to share the stage with him, was touched by his gentle and generous nature," it continued. "He will be deeply missed by all. ITC extends its deepest condolences to his dear, devoted wife Anita Khanzadian Jones, and extended family."
Born in 1937, Jones is perhaps best known for his Lois & Clark role. He is credited for all 87 episodes of the ABC series. He appeared in such works as The Terminal, Seabiscuit, Sneakers, Year of the Dragon, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Dark Shadows, Judging Amy, The Invisible Man, A League of Their Own, The Rocketeer and much more.
