Logan director James Mangold and ComicBook.com recently held a watch party of the film where he shared behind-the-scenes material, including a video visualization/stunt rehearsal of the opening scene.

The video recreates Logan's bloody battle with a group of carjackers, which stuntman Garret Warren's team and Mangold put together while doing prep for the film. While the scene mostly plays out like the final cut, there is considerably less blood, and it also ends with two surviving thugs running away as Logan advances on them.

The opening scene of Logan not only showcases Wolverine's advanced age and failing healing factor, but it also set the tone of the film in many ways. The video showcases the work that goes into choreographing a fight scene and speaks to the passion of the cast and crew involved, as it's clear they wanted to make sure the fights in the film had weight and felt appropriately brutal.

Logan takes place in a dystopian future where a weary and ailing Logan takes care of Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). However, he soon encounters Laura (Dafne Keen), a young mutant who shares his adamantium claws and healing factor. The film notably marked the end of Hugh Jackman's tenure as Wolverine.
