Now 48-years-old, Hugh Jackman has played the "X-Men" character Wolverine since the movie franchise began back in 2000. Jackman's run as the clawed mutant recently ended with "Logan," but -- ever since the film premiered in theaters -- articles and interviews recounting some of the actor's strangest stories from his two decades of "X-Men" movies have been surfacing online. One such interview revealed the curious (and naughty) wrap party gift he received upon completing "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
Largely panned by critics and audiences alike, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" followed the eponymous character through his work on Team X. The film also saw Logan undergo the surgery that bound adamantium to his bones and claws, making him the nigh-indestructible Wolverine. One particular sequence saw Wolverine waking post-surgery and fleeing though the halls of the Weapon X facility, naked. In a 2009 interview with Howard Stern, Jackman revealed he actually did the scene in the buff. While Jackman was never shown fully nude in the final cut, the footage exists -- and resulted in a special gift at the film's wrap party.
"When we finished the film, my wrap gift from the director [Gavin Hood] was a bag which had all the film cut off with my dick in it, " said Jackman. "So, I got frames of film, and I am looking, going, 'OK, hello!'"
Jackman prefaced the story by stating that the production team had offered him a sock to cover up with, but that he had turned them down, reasoning that "it's just like college." When the obvious followup question about size was floated, all Jackman would say was "it's pretty good, I think. I'm fine."
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" wasn't the last time Jackman would appear naked or near-naked in an "X-Men" movie. The actor also briefly appeared nude in a scene for "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and stripped down significantly for a cameo in "X-Men: Apocalypse." Jackman did not go on to describe what he did with the bag of film containing his nude shots, but chances are they're locked away safely.
Currently screening in theaters, "Logan" is directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant and Dafne Keen.
