Hugh Jackman played Logan in multiple X-Men films over the course of a decade and a half, and had plenty of memorable lines coming from them. But there's one in particular that Jackman readily cites as the "most beautiful," and in fact it's his character's last line in his most recent and final film.

“I did nine movies," Jackman told Variety, "But a couple were cameo-ish sort of things. Really, seven movies. I learned so much over those years. I feel so blessed to have the part, and I’m taking on a character that’s so beloved to so many. I’ll commit to that every day of the week, right? I’ll give 110%."

"The last scene of Logan, for example, where my character is dying, I think one of the most beautiful lines written for the character, which is, 'Ah, so this is what it feels like.'”

In Logan, the aging mutant superhero was slowly losing his accelerated healing factor, and at film's end succumbed to a combination of wounds suffered in battle at the hands of his X-24 clone and the longstanding effects of adamantium poisoning.

The meaning of his final, poignant words has been debated among fans since the film's 2017 release. Many have assumed the long-lived Logan was referring to the emotion he felt regarding his impending death -- an emotion he had likely at one time never expected to experience, given the long life his healing powers had given him.

Others have speculated he was actually referring to the idea of finally having a family of sorts, in the form of Laura (his X-23 clone, played by Dafne Keen, who filled a daughter-like role) and by extension the other younger mutants he helped save.
