Hulu's Locke & Key television pilot has cast the eldest Locke child and added veteran actor Danny Glover in a supporting role.

Deadline reports up-and-coming young actor Jack Mulhern will play co-lead Tyler Locke in the adaptation of the acclaimed horror comic by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, In the comics, published by IDW Publishing, Tyler is a dumb jock with a big heart who will protect his family at any cost.

Locke & Key follows Nina Locke and her three children, who move to the family home in Lovecraft, Massachusetts, following the murder of her husband Rendell Locke. There, they discover a series of magical keys and are pursued by a demonic presence. Debuting in 2008, the series won an Eisner Award, and earned several other distinctions.

Glover, best known for his role in the Lethal Weapon franchise, will play Joe Ridgeway, a high school English teacher who knows more than he lets on. Mr. Ridgeway was a relatively minor character in the comics, but a series of flashbacks about navigating an interracial relationship in the 1960s left a big impact.

These additions arrive on the heels of the casting of The Conjuring 2 actress Frances O’Connor as Nina Locke, It actor Jackson Robert Scott as Bode Locke, It actress Megan Charpentier as Kinsey Locke, and The Circle actor Nate Corddry as Duncan Locke. It director Andy Muschietti will helm the pilot.
