Netflix has revealed a new, full-length trailer for the upcoming second season of its comic book-based supernatural drama Locke & Key.

The new Locke & Key trailer rejoins Nina Locke (Darby Stanchfield), who is still coming to terms with the death of her husband -- or more accurately, the unexplained events surrounding it. The full-length trailer also doubles down on the teaser trailer released last month, showing the forging of a new key and promising that "new magic will be forged." The next chapter of the Locke family's story will be told when Locke & Key Season 2 premieres on Netflix on Friday, Oct. 22.

Based on IDW Publishing's comic book series of the same name created by writer Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodríguez, Netflix's Locke & Key dropped the entirety of its 10-episode first season on Feb. 7, 2020. The show follows the Locke siblings -- Tyler (Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones) and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) -- who, following the murder of their father, Rendell Locke (Bill Heck), is taken by their mother, Nina, to live in their ancestral home of Keyhouse.

In addition to Stanchfield, Jessup, Jones, Scott and Heck, Locke & Key Season 2 stars Petrice Jones as Scot Cavendish, Thomas Mitchell Barnett as Sam Lesser, Coby Bird as Rufus Whedon, Jesse Camacho as Doug Brazelle, Asha Bromfield as Zadie Wells, Griffin Gluck as Gabe, Hallea Jones as Eden, Aaron Ashmore as Duncan Locke, Liyuo Abere as Jamie Bennett and Brendan Hines as Josh Bennett. Like Season 1, Locke & Key Season 2 will run for a total of 10 episodes. The show has already been renewed for a third season, which is expected to begin production in January 2022.

From Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House), Locke & Key is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss and the unshakable bonds that define family."
