Last week, Syfy passed on a proposed Krypton spin-off centered on popular DC Comics anti-hero Lobo at the same time as it cancelled the main show. However, Krypton showrunner Cam Welsh seems confident the spin-off will find a home.Welsh released a statement on Twitter about the show's recent cancellation in which he thanked fans and praised Emmett J. Scanlan, who played Lobo on Krypton. Welsh assured fans Lobo was "far from dead" and teased news of an unspecified nature to come.
As Warner Horizon planned to shop both Krypton and Lobo around to other channels, Welsh's comments may indicate there's something coming on that front, though it's unclear at this time just what that might be.
The Krypton version of Lobo debuted at the end of the show's second season premiere on Colu, serving as an antagonist to Seg-El and Adam Strange. Lobo reappeared in the final episode of the series, where he entered an alliance with Seg-El to rescue Jor-El from Brainiac. The planned spin-off, which would have seen Scanlan reprising his role, was announced the day the season premiered.
