Recent entries within the Marvel Cinematic Universe have teased the upcoming threat of the Kang Dynasty. While the ruthlessness of one Kang was shown in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, its post-credits scene teased a massive collection of Kang variants that are afraid to lose their power. As a result, they've planned to begin their war against the multiverse's heroes and, inadvertently, kickstart a Multiversal war that could end all realities. But one entity could stop them if they get the chance: The Living Tribunal.

The Living Tribunal was initially teased by the Staff of The Living Tribunal in Doctor Strange. Though a weapon, it helped establish that somewhere in the universe, the cosmic entity existed. Loki later showed the statue of its head at the end of time, while Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness showcased a universe seemingly devoted to the entity. But even though these teases have yet to be paid off, they could come at a crucial time when the universe would need them the most.

The Living Tribunal Could Stop the Kang Dynasty Instantly

In the comics, The Living Tribunal was an entity that had existed as long as the universe had, and its specific goal was to maintain balance in the multiverse. Though this was mainly by keeping a balance of mystical forces, any threats would often incite intervention from The Tribunal. However, once that intervention came, there was very little that could stop The Living Tribunal from enacting justice.

Within the MCU, there was only one threat that had come to the multiverse in What If...?, and it went by the name of Infinity Ultron. Thankfully, the Guardians of the Multiverse stopped him before greater intervention was needed. That said, the Kang Dynasty has already established itself as far more deadly and, having already conquered some of the multiverse, could create the end of everything. Multiversal Wars happened before and ended just as quickly thanks to outside forces. But being that The Avengers may not be equipped to stop all Kangs, The Living Tribunal may be the best bet to stop the dynasty once and for all. That said, doing so may lead to the next great problem for the multiverse.

The Living Tribunal Could Also Offer the Perfect Segway to Secret Wars

Iron Man and The Watcher looking at a dead Living Tribunal

Before the incursions that came in the Marvel Universe, The Watcher and Iron Man found the body of The Living Tribunal on the moon. But being that the cosmic entity existed in every reality simultaneously, its body was found in every reality. Even though the loss was tragic, its body was used to make life rafts that a select few used to survive the incursions. That said, it didn't change the fact that the ones that killed the being were none other than The Beyonders.

By using the same logic, should The Living Tribunal move in to stop the Kang Dynasty from ending all reality, it would leave itself exposed to a Beyonder or another with the power to land a killing blow to the being. In doing such, it could lead to multiple incursions that could be harnessed by said individual. Once that happened, it would set the stage for the one with the power to create a new world that would lead directly into Avengers: Secret Wars. In the end, introducing The Living Tribunal would end one threat in an instant and introduce a totally new one just as quickly.
