As the hype builds towards the release of Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel, an unlikely star has risen: the titular hero's feline companion, Goose the Cat.

Early reviews for Captain Marvel have described Goose as a proper show-stealer. So, naturally, the next step was for the real-life cat behind the character to take over Marvel's YouTube channel for a nearly hour-long livestream. During the stream, he did just about everything you'd expect a cat do do on camera. He played ball, he napped (a lot) and he even wandered off the specialized set that was constructed for him.

Additionally, behind Goose was a green screen that allowed the inquisitive orange cat to "visit" various places and people. Those watching the stream were able to vote via comment to decide where Goose would pop in next.

Towards the end of the livestream, Samuel L. Jackson himself even turned up to say hello. Although, Goose seemed to be more interested in eating the food waiting for him in his Captain Marvel-themed bowl than exchanging pleasantries with Nick Fury. Fortunately, there don't appear to be any hard feelings.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. The film arrives on March 8.
