Disney has revealed the first trailer for its upcoming live-action adaptation of 1955's Lady and the Tramp.
The trailer was shown at D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, before being released online. The footage itself features classic characters from the animated original and hints at some of the iconic moments that will be adapted into live-action.
This will be the first live-action classic to debut on Disney+ as opposed to in theaters worldwide, where many of the movies have seen a lot of financial success. This past summer, the House of Mouse released new versions of Aladdin and The Lion King, which have each grossed over $1 billion at the box office. Disney also plans on releasing updated versions of The Sword and the Stone and Peter Pan on the streaming service. Disney also revealed at D23 that all of the dogs in the series are rescues.
Lady and the Tramp stars Tessa Thompson as Lady, Justin Theroux as Tramp, Sam Elliott as Trusty, Ashley Jensen as Jock, Benedict Wong as Bull, Janelle Monáe as Peg, Kiersey Clemons as Darling Dear, Thomas Mann as Jim Dear, Yvette Nicole Brown as Aunt Sarah, Arian Martinez as Elliot and Arturo Castro as Marco. The film arrives Nov. 12 exclusively on Disney+.
