Fresh off her acclaimed performance in the horror film Us, Lupita Nyong'o will star in a very different kind of horror movie in Little Monsters.

The upcoming comedy-horror movie thrilled audiences at SXSW in Austin earlier this year and has released its first red-band trailer teasing a kindergarten field trip caught in the middle of a ravenous zombie outbreak.

After a nearby military experiment goes awry, Nyong'o's character leads her kindergarten class, along with a lovelorn chaperone (Alexander England) and children's television host (Josh Gad), through the resulting gory chaos.

In an attempt to shield the impressionable kindergarteners from the bloody horror around them, the adults attempt to explain off the escalating situation as elaborate games of tag and the abundant viscera as jam, with stern instructions not to taste it. Blending black comedy with zombie action, Little Monsters promises a more light-hearted horror romp for Nyong'o after her last foray into the genre.
