The Little Mermaid voice actor Samuel E. Wright passed away at the age of 74.

Wright was memorialized by his hometown of Montgomery, New York, via the official Town of Montgomery Facebook page. Wright was called a "pillar of the community" for his work supporting the youth of Montgomery.

"Sam and his family have impacted countless Hudson Valley youth always inspiring them to reach higher and dig deeper to become the best version of themselves," the post reads. "On top of his passion for the arts and his love for his family, Sam was most known for walking into a room and simply providing PURE JOY to those he interacted with. He loved to entertain, he loved to make people smile and laugh and he loved to love."

Wright was best known for voicing Sebastian the Crab in The Little Mermaid and its direct-to-video sequels, including Sebastian's Caribbean Jamboree. He would also reprise the role of Sebastian in The Little Mermaid animated series and House of Mouse. Wright was also an accomplished performer on Broadway, where he starred in productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and returned to his Disney roots as Mufasa in the Broadway run of The Lion King musical.
