Little Lulu HC Edition of Overstreet #35 Sells Out On First Day

Official Press Release

Timonium, Maryland - The Little Lulu hardcover edition of The Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #35, which arrived at comic shops today, has sold out from both Diamond Comic Distributors and Gemstone Publishing.

The cover features Lulu and Tubby illustrated by John Stanley, the late writer-artist who guided their adventures for many years, and one of the Guide's feature articles spotlights Little Lulu's 70th anniversary as a comic strip and 60th anniversary as a comic book. The article also includes three concept drawings from the Overstreet files that Stanley created years ago for possible Guide covers.

A very limited supply of the Little Lulu soft cover edition remains available.

"We're extremely pleased with the reaction to this year's edition of the Guide," said J.C. Vaughn, Executive Editor of Gemstone Publishing. "Both the Little Lulu editions and the Iron Man editions are selling briskly and the feedback from our advisors, advertisers, retailers and fans has been excellent."

This year's edition of the Guide, which arrived two weeks early at comic book specialty shops, was offered in four editions to the Direct Market through Diamond Comic Distributors. The versions still available are the Iron Man soft cover (DEC042649), Iron Man hard cover (DEC042648), and Little Lulu soft cover (DEC042651). The soft cover editions retail for $25 and the hard covers are $32.

Since 1970, only one comic book price guide has been dubbed "the Bible" for casual and die-hard collectors alike. While others have come and gone, The Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide has become the premiere reference source for the hobby, and it covers centuries of comic book history.
