Last year it seemed as if half of Hollywood was developing a new take on Peter Pan, but now it may be Robin Hood's time in the sun. Again. Disney is hoping to replicate the success of "Pirates of the Caribbean" with "Nottingham & Robin Hood," while Sony Pictures bought a pitch for "Hood," described as "The Fast and the Furious" meets "Mission: Impossible."

Now add Lionsgate to the list.

Deadline reports the studio has snatched up "Robin Hood: Origins," a script by Joby Harold ("Knights of the Round Table," "Edge of Tomorrow") that's said to -- surprise? -- offer an "edgier take" on the legendary outlaw.

It's produced by Appian Way, along with Harold and Tory Tunnell under their Safehouse Pictures banner.
