The first trailer for Disney's CGI remake of The Lion King debuted this past Thursday on Thanksgiving and received the second-most views of all time for any trailer within the first 24 hours of its premiere.

The teaser trailer clocked an impressive 224.6 million views worldwide since its debut on Thursday making it the second-most watched trailer debut of all time and most of any trailer for the studio as proclaimed by its official Instagram account.

The debut is second only to this year's Avengers: Infinity War whose trailer received 238 million views upon its debut. While Infinity War shares Disney as a parent company with The Lion King, it was released through its subsidiary company Marvel Studios rather than the main Disney studio, making Disney's Instagram claim as this week's arrival being the largest Disney debut ever for a trailer technically accurate.

The upcoming film retells the popular 1994 animated film of the same name with the young lion Simba discovering his place in the larger animal kingdom with updated, photo-realistic CGI animation.
