In the TV spot, Mufasa is voiced by James Earl Jones, who reprises his role from the original 1994 film. While speaking to young Simba (JD McCrary) in the footage, Mufasa says to his son, "Look at the stars. The great kings look down on us from those stars; and so will I."

Glover and Beyoncé will play the older versions of the characters Simba and Nala, respectively. Their soulful duet plays out during familiar moments recreated from the classic 2D-animated film.
