Digital comics publisher Lion Forge has announced its acquisition of fellow comic publisher Magnetic Press in a deal that will see the latter rebranded as the Magnetic Collection at Lion Forge Comics, a curated banner functioning across all Lion Forge imprints.
Along with the acquisition of Magnetic Press’ catalog of creator-centric titles, the move will see Magnetic’s former publisher and president, Mike Kennedy, join Lion Forge Comics under the job title of Creative Director of the Magnetic Collection.
Lion Forge is best known for its line of ’80s TV-themed digital comics, with titles running from “Air Wolf,” to “Voltron,” and including “Knight Rider” and “Saved by the Bell.” Print collections of its most popular titles have also been produced and distributed via IDW.
Magnetic Press published a number of award winning books over the years, chief among them Federico Bertolucci’s “Love” series of original graphic novels.
Lion Forge Comics will be attending the 2016 New York Comic Convention, held at the Javits Convention Center in New York City from October 6-9, and can be found at Booth #1669.
