WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Link Click Episode 10, "Trap," now streaming on Funimation.

With only one episode left, Link Click is gearing up for an exciting finale. Time-hoppers Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang are left with more questions than ever before as they try to find out who killed Emma -- who was introduced in Episode 1 -- as well as who kidnapped Xu Shanshan. It all seems to point to one person but without any evidence, it'll be hard to convict him. Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang will have to set a trap to corner the serial killer once and for all by the season's end.

After the timeline has changed to the point that Emma is seemingly alive again, Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang decide that the next course of action is to figure out the whereabouts of Xu Shanshan. They don't have much of a lead since Liu Min now has an alibi -- except for the selfie that Xu Shanshan took outside of their studio the day she came by to ask for their help. Lu Guang investigates it to find out who took her and does indeed find something useful.

On the night of her disappearance, Xu Shanshan heard something strange in her apartment and notices a shadow in her bathroom. Turning on the light, a hooded man with a terrifying white mask with painted red lips lunges at her with a knife. Lu Guang's connection cuts out there.

Liu Min isn't working alone: his accomplice, the masked intruder, who Liu Min calls his "dear friend," has been behind the scenes and doing his dirty work. Cheng Xiaoshi is all for jumping into the photo to get more information but Lu Guang stops him: he'll be the one in Xu Shanshan's body and he'll be the one to experience what she experienced -- is he ready for the worst-case scenario? It's a sign of maturity for Cheng Xiaoshi as he takes a moment to emotionally and mentally steel himself. He has to accept that no matter what happened to Xu Shanshan, he can't change her fate.

When Cheng Xiaoshi lands in Xu Shanshan's body, Qiao Ling reveals a little more of Cheng Xiaoshi's backstory. Although seemingly carefree, she tells her friend that Cheng Xiaoshi is very emotionally strong. The photo studio used to be owned by his parents but with them gone (it's unclear whether or not they've died, perhaps in the earthquake), Cheng Xiaoshi has become ostracized for being parentless. 20 minutes until the masked man is set to appear, Cheng Xiaoshi makes an unusual request: he asks Lu Guang if he can take the lead this time. Although surprised, Lu Guang acquiesces.

Cheng Xiaoshi goes through the motions, going to the bathroom where he knows the masked man is lying in wait. The masked man in the present timeline enters the studio and walks into the darkroom as Lu Guang counts down the time. As soon as Cheng Xiaoshi turns on the light, the masked man attacks, and, in the present, as soon as he turns on the light, Lu Guang races out from his hiding spot and locks him in there.

Cheng Xiaoshi proposes a game: the masked man will receive a clue at 10 AM that he can use to try to find Cheng Xiaoshi. Laughing, the masked man asks if he'll be his new friend if he wins the game. Cheng Xiaoshi tells him that he won't call the police but in return, Xu Shanshan must be ensured safety. In the present timeline, Lu Guang calls someone on his phone and tells them that the masked man is locked in the darkroom. Cheng Xiaoshi claps his hand, disappears and lands back in the present timeline... right in front of the masked man in the locked dark room, declaring that the game is over.

What is Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang's plan? With the abrupt shift from Emma to Xu Shanshan, it's unclear if there will be any closure on Emma's case, or what will happen to our intrepid time-traveling duo after they solve this case. The last episode of Link Click promises to be an emotional one.
