As Brooklyn Nine-Nine settles into its new network on NBC for its sixth season, self-professed fan Lin-Manuel Miranda will appear on the sitcom as a guest star.

Miranda, who created and starred the award-winning Broadway musical Hamilton, will appear in the episode "The Golden Child" as Amy Santiago's brother and rival, David.

The episode is scheduled to air on Thursday, March 6 in the series' usual time slot of 9 pm ET/PT. Miranda's casting lines up with previous comments by series' co-creator Dan Goor, who hoped to get the actor to appear at some point on the show in Season 6.

After Fox announced they were cancelling the acclaimed comedy this past May, Miranda was among the high-profile celebrities that voiced support for another network to pick it up online. In less than 48 hours since the news of its cancellation went public, NBC announced they would pick up the series for a sixth season.

Created in 2013 by Dan Goor and Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation), Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars Andy Samberg (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Andre Braugher (House), Stephanie Beatriz (Bojack Horseman),Chelsea Peretti (Game Night), Joe Lo Truglio (Reno 911), Terry Crews (Deadpool 2), Dirk Blocker (Poltergeist) and Joel McKinnon Miller (Big Love). The show airs on Thursdays at 9 pm ET/PT on NBC.
