Liam Neeson appears to have refined his monstrous voice between the debut of the first trailer for "A Monster Calls" in November and this new U.K. release, creating something that sounds ancient, terrifying and wonderful, all at the same time.

An adaptation of the acclaimed fantasy novel by the acclaimed fantasy novel by Patrick Ness and Jim Kay, director Juan Antonio Bayona's film stars newcomer Lewis MacDougall as a 12-year-old who attempts to deal with his mother’s illness and the bullying of classmates by escaping to a fantasy world of monsters and fairy tales.

Arriving in October, “A Monster Calls” also stars Felicity Jones, Signourney Weaver and Toby Kebbell.
