The Men in Black spinoff already has a star-studded cast by way of Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. Now, there is a report the one and only Liam Neesons will be joining the sci-fi comedy film as well.
According to Variety, Neeson is said to be playing the head of the UK branch for the titular organization. The film's plot is said to be a murder mystery that sees Thompson's newcomer agent join forces with Hemsworth's Agent H, himself already a member in London, and the two will travel the globe in search of the killer and build upon the mythology of the series. In the previous American-set films, Rip Torn was the head of the New York that Agents J and K were a part of.
Neeson himself is no stranger to action films; following the release of the original Taken in 2010, it was hard to find him in a film that wasn't an action movie. His last pure action flick was 2017's The Commuter, which he said would mark his retirement from the action movie genre.
Sony’s Men in Black spinoff is scheduled for release in theaters on June 14, 2019. Thompson and Hemsworth will be seen again in the upcoming Avengers 4, which has a release date of May 3, 2019.
