While director Matthew Vaughn has been hard at work behind the scenes of Kingsman: The Great Game, a new report about quietly revealed a massive star has joined the cast of the upcoming Kingsman prequel.

As Deadline reports that Liam Neeson has joined the cast of Kingsman: The Great Game, in an undisclosed role.

The movie will be the third Kingsman film and will explore the origins of the modern version of the spy agency. The film will reportedly star Harris Dickinson in the lead role, as a mysterious man who will eventually become known as the "Kingsman."

Rhys Ifans , Charles Dance, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Matthew Goode, Gemma Arterton, Djimon Hounsou, Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Robert Aramay and Daniel Bruhl have also been confirmed to be involved in the film.

If Neeson joins the film, it would hardly be his first comic book movie role. Neeson famously portrayed Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and had a late career renaissance as an action movie star after appearing in 2008's Taken.

Based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons' comic The Secret Service, the first two Kingsman movies, starring Taron Egerton and Colin Firth made over $800 million at the box office.

Due to this prequel's setting neither of those franchise stars is set to appear in this film. However, both are expected to return for another in-development Kingsman film that will reportedly close out their relationship.

Kingsman: The Great Game is directed and co-written by Matthew Vaughn. It is scheduled to open in theaters everywhere on February 14, 2020.
