Another member of "The Flash's" famed rogues gallery is storming his way into The CW's hit drama, as Liam McIntyre has been tapped to play the Weather Wizard.

The news circulated this week via an Instagram post, and Variety has confirmed with the network that McIntyre will portray the villain in an upcoming episode. The actor previously appeared as the lead in Starz's "Spartacus," and is expected to appear across multiple episodes of the superhero show, which returns on Jan. 20.

Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino in 1959, the Weather Wizard's story revolves around brothers Clyde and Mark Mardon. In the comics, Clyde creates the technology to control the weather that his brother steals after he dies under suspicious circumstances. This new TV version will likely tweak that setup as Clyde Mardon already appeared as a bank robber caught in the explosion in "The Flash's" pilot episode and developed similar weathering powers -- and was killed off that same episode.

The character actually has more media exposure than some of the Flash's more iconic villains. Weather Wizard has appeared twice in live-action -as part of the camp "Legends of the Superheroes" special from the '70s and in the failed "Justice League" TV pilot from the '90s. He also appeared in an episode of "Superman: The Animated Series" as voiced by Miguel Ferrer before moving on to several other DC animated shows.
