Attack on Titan has plenty of beloved characters, but the most beloved character in the series is Levi Ackerman, by far. He makes quite the impression when he's first introduced, and he certainly lives up to the title of best Titan killer. Not only is he incredibly loyal, but his skills as a Scout are nearly unmatched.

Not many characters can compete with a man like Levi. In fact, for every competent character, there is a character who is completely incompetent. Then again, not every anime character can have the strength and skill that Levi does, so it makes sense that there are just as many characters who can compete with him as there are that can't.

10 Same Level: Mikasa Has The Most Resolve (Attack On Titan)

Mikasa in Marley

Mikasa is Attack on Titan's best girl and has proven herself to be just as skilled as Levi. From the moment she graduates, she's killing Titans better than most veterans. When she first joins the Scouts, Levi shows that he is far more experienced than her, but over time she proves she is a strong Scout with unshakeable resolve.

The remaining Scout members would be lost without her, especially when they are faced with killing their own comrades.

9 Nowhere Close: Mineta Shouldn't Be A Hero (My Hero Academia)

Mineta looking evil in My Hero Academia.

Mineta has made small changes throughout My Hero Academia, but compared to everyone else, his strength and motivations are weak. It makes sense for students new to heroics to fear a villain attack, but Mineta stands out as the most cowardly compared to the rest of his classmates.

Not to mention, he has proven on several occasions that he would rather take advantage of another person's strength than succeed on his own merits. He may be a diligent student but when compared to characters who have proven how strong they are, Mineta is nothing.

8 Same Level: Hiei Has A Complex Moral Code (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Hiei using his third eye

Hiei is similar to Levi in several ways, including his short stature. More importantly, he is a strong character with a complex moral code. Most of the time it seems like he's out for himself, but that doesn't mean he isn't afraid to put himself on the line to save the people important to him.

Hiei is also one of the strongest characters, with incredible skills and speed. It's no wonder he's gotten himself a reputation amongst demons when he's able to easily take out the competition. Yusuke is probably one of the only people stronger than him, but he probably prefers it that way. After all, life would be boring if he didn't have a rival.

7 Nowhere Close: Zenitsu Is Only Strong When He's Asleep (Demon Slayer)

Zenitsu Agatsuma looking terrified and sweating from Demon Slayer

Zenitsu is a strong character with an incredibly powerful breathing technique. The problem is he can only access his skills when he's asleep. When he's awake, he's a whiny coward who's more concerned with saving his own life rather than his comrades'.

To many, Zenitsu is the most annoying character and that's mainly because of his constant screaming. He may pull off a few cool moves every once in a while, but compared to the characters who have worked their butts off to gain the skills they have, Zenitsu is subpar.

6 Same Level: Kenshin Is The Strongest Swordsman (Rurouni Kenshin)

Kenshin from Samurai X

Kenshin is one of the best swordsmen of all time with a kill count that's too scary to think about. While he's given up on killing, that hasn't stopped him from being superior to nearly everyone else. He can take out several opponents in an instant and even cut objects like stone completely in half with a single strike.

Anyone who faces him must be incredibly thankful that Kenshin doesn't kill anymore, because facing him would be certain death otherwise.

5 Nowhere Close: Usopp Is Helpful But Cowardly (One Piece)

Usopp from One Piece smiling

Usopp is a loyal member of the Straw Hat Crew and a handy person to have around. That being said, he is still the most human of the crew with no special abilities or super strength. He tries his best to be useful to his friends but that usually results in him getting into a lot of trouble.

Not to mention, Usopp is pretty cowardly for the most part, although that hasn't stopped him from being there for his friends when they really need him. He may not be the strongest character in One Piece and when compared to someone like Levi, he just doesn't compare, but Usopp is still a good character at the end of the day, which makes up for his weaknesses.

4 Same Level: Maki Doesn't Need Cursed Energy To Be Strong (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Jujutsu Kaisen's Maki Zenin Pointing Her Sword

Maki Zenin is one of the most badass characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. Even with her family pushing her down, she still manages to be one of the strongest sorcerers. The fact that she can easily pummel curses without any cursed energy of her own shows how strong she is.

It's almost scary to think about how much stronger she would be if she did have cursed energy. Just like Levi, Maki is the type of character that everyone wants to root for. She may have underdog energy, but she doesn't let that stop her from being a top competitor.

3 Nowhere Close: Uryu Is Weak Compared To Everyone Else (Bleach)

Uryu Ishida in Bleach

Uryu is pretty strong for a Quincy, but that isn't much considering the strength of the people he surrounds himself with. The fact that his main weapon is a bow and arrow somewhat limits him when faced with sword-wielding opponents. He's good at thinking outside the box when it comes to fighting but he also tends to get too wrapped up in analyzing his opponents.

Uryu is a hard worker but just like the rest of Ichigo's friends, he's found himself hitting a plateau while all of the Soul Reapers are getting stronger. Uryu sure is an interesting and intelligent character but when it comes to fighting, he's definitely one of the weaker characters.

2 Same Level: Kakashi Is A Good Leader (Naruto)

Kakashi as the Sixth Hokage in Naruto.

There's a reason Kakashi has a reputation outside of the Leaf Village and that's mainly because of how powerful he is. With the Sharingan, he can instantly copy any attack thrown at him, and because of his experiences in battle, he knows dozens of Jutsu. He's also a prodigy who became a Jonin by the time most Shinobi were becoming Genin.

The most important thing about him, however, is his ability to lead others. He uses his experiences to prevent his students from making the same mistakes he has. Without Kakashi's guidance, it's likely Naruto never would have become one of the greatest Shinobi of the Leaf Village, which means the series could have ended very differently.

1 Nowhere Close: Inuyasha Is Bull Headed (Inuyasha)

Inuyasha holding his sword in Inuyasha.

Inuyasha is strong and brave but compared to other anime characters he doesn't really stand out all that much. He kind of grows over the course of the series but for the most part, his skills stay exactly the same.

He isn't all that fast or intelligent, which gets him in trouble when he charges into things without a plan. He may have the confidence of a character like Levi but when it comes to skill, his abilities are pretty subpar.
