Attack on Titan's first manga chapter was released in 2009, and the series managed to amass quite the following in Japan, but it did not achieve global recognition until the anime launched in 2013. The series takes place in a world where humanity is threatened by massive, man-eating humanoid monsters called Titans, and it is the Scout Regiment's job to kill these Titans and reclaim the world from them.
Levi Ackerman is the regiment's strongest and most skilled soldier, and he certainly has the skills to show for it. These Titans are just a few of the villains that exist in the anime world, and although Levi specializes in killing Titans, he can certainly take on certain villains from other series. Unfortunately, there are also villains against who he would not stand a chance.
10 Could Beat: Tsukasa Might Be Insanely Strong, But He Isn't A Titan
Tsukasa became Dr. Stone's first antagonist shortly after he was de-petrified, and everyone around him feared him because of his immense strength. Tsukasa spent years as a fighter, which is how he gained his physical prowess, speed, endurance, and hand-to-hand capabilities; and he is also quite intelligent.
He may be strong enough to kill a lion with one punch, but Tsukasa is nothing compared to a man-eating Titan. Levi would be able to use his 3D maneuver gear to easily outmaneuver him, and his blades, which are designed to kill Titans, would cut straight through Tsukasa's durable skin.
9 Would Lose To: He Would Be No Match For Madara's Sharingan Abilities
Madara is arguably Naruto's best villain, and if Levi were to ever face him, Levi would get destroyed. Thanks to the Sharingan, Madara can read all of Levi's movements, which means that he can dodge all of his attacks very easily, and if Levi looks him in the eye, Madara can trap him in an illusion.
The legendary Uchiha can also use his powerful Fire-Style to burn Levi to a crisp, and if that somehow doesn't work, he can always use his Susanoo. The Susanoo is a massive ethereal avatar that can protect Madara from virtually any attack, and Levi's blades would shatter after hitting its armor. These avatars can also attack, and Madara's can change entire landscapes with a single sword strike.
8 Could Beat: Levi Can Take Out Spinner Because His Quirk Isn't Impressive Or Powerful
In the My Hero Academia universe, most of humanity possesses some kind of Quirk/superpower, and although many of these Quirks are powerful, there are still characters that Levi can beat. Spinner is a villain who serves as one of the lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front, and he uses swords and other blades for close-quarters combat.
Spinner's quirk is called Gecko, and all it does is give him a lizard-like appearance and the ability to stick to walls. All Levi needs to do is slash or shoot Spinner, and the villain would go down like an ordinary human.
7 Would Lose To: Levi Would Never Be Able To Overcome Akainu's Logia Powers
In One Piece, Logia Devil Fruits are considered to be the strongest, and Fleet Admiral Akainu happens to be one of the series' strongest Logia users. Akainu ate the Magma-Magma Fruit, which allows him to create and control magma, but he can also transform any part of his body into magma at will.
If Levi attempts to stab or slash Akainu, his blades will hit nothing but magma and melt away, and if Levi tries to shoot Akainu, the bullets will simply pass through him. All Akainu needs to do is hit Levi once, and if he does, he will burn him to death.
6 Could Beat: Spandam Is Weaker Than An Ordinary Marine
Spandam is another character from One Piece, but he is on the completely opposite side of the series' power scale. He was one of the main antagonists of the Enies Lobby Arc, and he is the former chief of CP9 — a covert organization that specializes in assassinations.
Despite his position, Spandam is a coward who happens to be insanely weak. In One Piece, ordinary marines are considered to be nothing more than cannon fodder, and they all have a physical power level of at least 10, but Spandam's power registers at just 9, so he would pose literally no threat to someone like Levi.
5 Would Lose To: Aizen Is An Immortal Being Who Can Control All Of Levi's Senses
Aizen wanted to rule over everything as a true Soul King, and he did a lot of terrible things in order to achieve this goal. Aizen's plan revolved around the Hōgyoku — a small bluish-purple orb that has the power to materialize a person's deepest desire.
The Hōgyoku ended up granting Aizen god-like power and immortality, which means that Levi will never be able to kill him. Aizen's Zanpakutō also has the ability to completely hypnotize someone by taking control of all five of their senses, so if he wanted to, he could make Levi fly straight into a Titan's mouth.
4 Could Beat: Gatō Is Nothing Without His Henchmen
Most people saw Gatō as a powerful shipping magnate, but he was actually a drug dealer and smuggler who wanted to take over the Land of Waves. The Naruto universe is filled with ninja who can fight using chakra, but Gatō isn't one of them, in fact, he is nothing more than a corrupt and greedy gangster.
It is true that Gatō likes to surround himself with mercenaries, but Levi will be able to cut through them all just as easily as Zabuza did. Levi doesn't even need to fight these mercenaries though, because he can just use his 3D maneuver gear to go straight for Gatō.
3 Would Lose To: Father's Mastery Of Alchemy Made Him A God
Father was Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood's main villain, and he managed to become a living Philosopher's Stone by sacrificing more than half a million innocent souls. This made Father an immortal being who could perform alchemy without even moving.
Unlike other alchemists, Father does not need to abide by the laws of physics, as he can create matter out of nothing, and he is capable of performing multiple high-scale transmutations at once. All Father needs to do is use alchemy to flatten the entire terrain and make Levi's maneuver gear useless, and he can then use more alchemy to either crush, burn, or impale him.
2 Could Beat: Light May Have The Death Note, But He's Still An Ordinary Human
The Death Note is arguably the strongest weapon in all of anime, and when Light Yagami found it, it changed his life forever. When someone's name is written inside the notebook, their fate is sealed, because if a cause of death is not mentioned, they will simply die from a heart attack after 40 seconds.
Light can definitely kill Levi if he writes his name in the notebook, but Levi is fast enough to take him out before that happens. The notebook may give Light the power of a Death God, but he is still an ordinary teenager who lacks the type of fighting experience Levi has.
1 Would Lose To: Frieza Can Destroy Planets, So An Ordinary Human Wouldn't Pose A Threat
Levi is a capable fighter, but he would never survive an encounter with someone who is as physically strong as Frieza. If Frieza were to land a punch or kick on Levi, the attack would probably kill him instantly, and if it doesn't, every bone in his body will likely shatter from the impact.
Thanks to his 3D maneuver gear, Levi can move incredibly fast, but Frieza constantly fights individuals who can move faster than the eye can see, so to him, Levi will essentially be moving in slow motion. Levi might be able to cut Freiza if he actually lands a hit on him, but that would probably annoy Frieza to the point that he will simply destroy Levi's planet.
