While CBS All Access' upcoming series Star Trek: Picard has only confirmed the return of Patrick Stewart from the acclaimed Star Trek: The Next Generation cast, former co-star LeVar Burton is holding out hope that he and the other cast members from the long-running series will reappear in some capacity.

While appearing at the premiere of The Lion King, Burton was asked if he would reprise his role as USS Enterprise chief engineer Geordi La Forge and if his co-stars would similarly be open to returning for Picard.

"Each of us, I would say certainly, right?" admitted Burton in a red carpet interview with CNN. "It is unreasonable to assume that he doesn't know those people anymore, or that he stopped talking to them. And if he did there's good storytelling in why."

While Jean-Luc Picard has since returned to run his family's French vineyard since leaving Starfleet, Burton hopes that La Forge has since finally achieved some success in his usually unlucky love life rather than having to resort to create simulated dates on the Holodeck.

"I'd settle with him having a date with somebody he didn't invent on the Holodeck," declared Burton. "If he could just have sex with a real person, I'd be so happy!"

Debuting later this year on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Picard stars Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway.
