Having won several awards for its approach to humor and small town life, Letterkenny has proved immensely popular, bringing in viewers from all around the world.
With Letterkenny set to return for Season 9 later this month, here's what you need to know about the show's plot, trailer, release date and other news.
Letterkenny Season 9's Plot
Set in the titular rural Canadian town, Letterkenny Season 9 will, like previous installments, focus on Wayne, Daryl, Katy, Squirrely Dan and the Ontario community's various other inhabitants. The primary characters run a farm and sell produce. The show pokes fun at rural Canadian life and tropes related to it through a mix of sharp humor, slapstick and blue comedy. Overall, Letterkenny is relatively light on storylines, so while new viewers might miss out on some of the long-running jokes, it's entirely possible to jump into the show in Season 9 and not miss a beat.
At this time, the core's main cast is expected to return for all of Letterkenny Season 9, and there's no indication that they'll depart the show anytime soon. As such, there's little chance of any big changes to the cast this time around.
Letterkenny Season 9's Trailer
There have been three teasers release for Letterkenny Season 9 as of writing. Each of the trailers tease the jokes in Season 9 and the continuation of some of the show's recurring jokes. The second teaser in particular debuts a full scene of Wayne, Daryl and Squirrely Dan making fun of British accents.
Letterkenny Season 9's Release Date
Letterkenny Season 9, which runs seven episodes, premieres in Dec. 25, with episodes hitting Hulu the next day on Dec. 26. Filming on Seasons 10 and 11 is expected to begin in spring, though it's unclear at this time if there will be any delays as a result of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Created by Jared Keeso, Letterkenny stars Keeso as Wayne, Nathan Dales as Daryl, Michelle Mylett as Katy, K. Trevor Wilson as Squirrely Dan, Dylan Playfair as Reilly, Andrew Herr as Jonesy and Tyler Johnston as Stewart. Season 9 premieres Dec. 25 on Crave. Episodes will arrive on Hulu on Dec. 26.
