Leonardo DiCaprio has played any number of fascinating characters in his career, but he may have to deliver several at once in his next production project.

Variety has word that the actor's Appian Way production shingle will team with New Regency to produce The Crowded Room – a film based Daniel Keyes nonfiction book about Billy Milligan, the first person to successfully use multiple personality disorder as a legal defense. Jason Smilovic and Todd Katzberg will write the screenplay.

While the article doesn't say whether DiCaprio will play the part of Milligan, who avoided charges in the 1970s of armed robbery and rape due to a multiple personality defense, the actor does star in Appian Way and New Regency's upcoming collaboration The Revenant, so the collaboration has obviously been fruitful both onscreen and off.
